Gibson’s Art Department offers a wide range of paintings, sculptures, and works on paper, spanning the traditional, post-war, modern, and contemporary art movements by Australian, Indigenous, and international artists. With decades of combined experience in the art auction and commercial gallery sectors, the department’s staff possess extensive knowledge of the art market. Gibson’s hosts two dedicated live Australian & International Art auctions each year, in April and October, complemented by seasonal online art auctions. The department also maintains strong relationships with galleries and institutions, and may assist in facilitating Private Sales. Gibson's offers traditional works from renowned artists such as Arthur Streeton, Frederick McCubbin, Hugh Ramsay, Tom Roberts, Charles Conder, Margaret Preston, Elioth Gruner, and Ethel Carrick Fox amongst others, celebrated for their significant contributions to the Australian art landscape.

Post-War, Modern & Contemporary
Gibson's offers a diverse range of works that span from the post-war era to contemporary pieces on the secondary art market. Featured artists include Sali Herman, Charles Blackman, Arthur Boyd, Clifton Pugh, Sidney Nolan, Mirka Mora, Dorothy Braund, John Olsen, Anne Hall, and Dale Frank, reflecting a wide array of Australian artistic movements and styles.

Indigenous Australian
As part of our Australian art offering, the Gibson's team regularly handles and sells Australian Indigenous artworks. This includes works by renowned artists such as Tommy Watson, Rover Thomas, Clifford Possum, Turkey Tolsen Tjupurrula, and Mick Namarari Tjapaltjarri, as well as celebrated female artists Emily Kngwarreye and Minnie Pwerle.
