Lent to an exhibition of East Anglian silver in the Norwich Cathedral Treasury, September-October 2004, illustrated as item 23 in catalogue, and cited as reputedly the only surviving Norwich example with sand cast handles

NOTE
Elizabeth Haselwood (1644-1715) was a member of the highly regarded Haselwood family of silversmiths who manufactured from around 1625-1740, and assumed the workshop of her late husband, Arthur Haselwood II, upon his death in 1684. She was the only woman silversmith registered in Norwich in the 17th century, and her work features in the Royal Collection.

  • Condition: This item presents with no apparent damage or repair. The handles are applied to the body with apparent roughness and irregularity. Marks to base are clear but lightly rubbed. The piece presents with a good mellow patina throughout. Overall good condition.
