NOTE
David Barclay was born in Montrose Scotland in 1804 and emigrated to Van Dieman's land, arriving in Hobart Town on 30 October 1830 aboard the ship Resource (from London) and established himself as a Watchmaker, Jeweller, Silversmith, Goldsmith, working from premises at 29 Elizabeth Street, and then 96 Liverpool Street, Hobart. One of his notable clocks, a longcase floor-standing regulator is housed in the collection of the Allport Museum, Hobart, Tasmania.   • Condition: The clock is English verge fusee movement and signed by the maker. It winds up (key supplied), ticking but not recently serviced or timed. The accuracy of timekeeping is consistent with a fusee verge of its age - fair.
