The original shield, in silver is in the Victoria & Albert Museum. Made by Elkington & Co. for the Paris Exhibition of 1867.
Designed and produced by Leonard Morel-Ladeuil (circa 1820-1888), who worked for Elkington & Co. from 1859. At the Paris Exhibition, Morel-Ladeuil was acclaimed to be the finest artist of this genre.
